Frelinghuysen Arboretum – This 127-acre arboretum features woodlands, gardens, a colonial revival mansion and lovely meadows. Capture your wedding with photos on the grounds. Learn about the trees and shrubs indigenous to the area. Attend an evening of music on the property. Embark on a guided nature hike. Stop at the many historical sites on the grounds.
Lewis Morris Park – Named after New Jersey's first governor, this 1,154-acre park was one of the first to implement interpretive signage throughout its grounds. Organize a baseball game at one of the park's fields. Paddle around the lake in your canoe. Trot on equestrian trails.
Morristown National Historic Park – Reserve an entire day for this park. This park was the encampment grounds for the Continental Army. Tour the Ford Mansion and Museum. Stroll herb gardens at Wick House. Hike out to Jockey Hollow and the soldier huts, which General George Washington had constructed during the American Revolution. Sign up your child for the Junior Ranger program.
Pinch Brook Golf Course – A Rees Jones course, it was rated three-and-a-half stars by Golf Digest and one of the top 100 must-play courses by Golf Styles Magazine. Refine your stroke on this 18-hole course. Purchase a pair of golf gloves at the Pro Shop.
Traction Line Trail – Traverse two-and-a-half miles of trail within the Morristown National Historic Park. Cross-country ski the same grounds that Washington's troops traveled. Test your fitness with a stop at nine exercise stations.
